Sunday Blog: The strange choice of the people Trump chooses to surround himself with

first_imgCommentary by Robert Escandon, Sumner Newscow — Whether you are a supporter of President Trump (or not) it has to be admitted that he is surrounded by “strangeness, often of his own making.Robert EscandonTake, as just one example, the choice of his personal physician Dr. Bornstein.  There is a general perception that a physician is going to be a smartly dressed conservative (with a small c) person whose demeanor and bearing reflect the nature of his profession.Like so many things associated with Donald Trump, his choice of personal physician seems out of line with any normal perception. He looks like some over-weight , degenerate, left over from a 60’s Hippy convention.  On a personal review site Dr Bornstein scored a massive one star out of a possible five stars.  Now it has come to light, that our President dictated his own letter commenting on his official health status. I had suspected this was the case due to all the ridiculous hyperbole which was a giveaway of Trump’s expressionistic style.  Example:  “The President has the best genes of any President before him.”  I wonder how much Trump paid Bornstein for signing off on that and all the other medical BS in the statement?Furthermore, we hear that Bornstein’s offices were raided very shortly after Trump took office.  Trump’s personal bodyguard and several others walked into Bernstein’s offices and removed all documents relating to Trump’s medical condition and any medications he was taking.  We previously knew of one medication was Propecia, a medicine for hair loss. And then. Our president appoints quality people to his cabinet posts only to undermine and sometimes fire them.  I’m wondering how long General Kelly will remain as Chief of Staff as such a position is an anathema to Trump who doesn’t like anyone to speak for him.Now we have a sometimes incoherent Rudi Giuliani who has the same problems as his boss.  Blurts out remarks without checking facts, digs holes for the President by contradicting previous statements, tries to walk the statements back and does it all with the same poor spoken English which is a Trump hallmark.Sadly, Rudi Giuliani has seen better days and is past his intellectual prime.  I wish it were possible to have a stenographer record a word-for-word conversation between Trump and Giuliani  It would be hilarious.  Both have a particular talent for leaving half-completed sentences hanging in mid air while suddenly moving onto a different theme. And then there are lies — lots and lots of lies leading to a belief that our President  is a compulsive liar.  At best, “He is untethered to the truth” to quote Comey.  Can you imagine having no idea if Monday’s statements were still valid on Wednesday?Occasionally, you might just believe you have good handle on the President’s thoughts and directions only to be publicly savaged by your boss and then fired by Twitter? The rest of the world just cannot figure how we elected such a strange person to be our leader.Follow us on Facebook.Follow us on Twitter. I wonder how many of his future biographers have wished the same thing (although they’re already inundated with enough fodder for numerous volumes!)? Last few months with articles like this, The confederate flag, student protest on guns. you have lowered yourself to the standards of the tabloids. I so looked forward to our local news and the events that was of pride and concern to our community. It is no longer that . This has become a place where a select few rage their anger and bias. We have free speech here at a precious cost to countless families. Where is our common respect for each other ? Reading this article that was laced with insults and demeaning comments …Where is the intellect in that ? I am amazed that individuals can consider this behavior acceptable to demean a fellow human being. We as a nation have movements against the treatment of our brothers and sisters for different issues and it seems those very people who have such an outcry about those mistreatments are FIRST to attack someone who thinks different or acts different or looks different Or votes different. What does that say about our REAL freedom ? What makes us as a nation different when we treat each other with such contempt and condemnation ? How does that make us a patriot ? How does that show we are thankful for our freedoms ? What does this behavior really say about us ? What comes out of our mouths speaks to what is in our hearts and minds, we are told that there is power of life and death in the tongue. How will we use that power ? You highlight two, Bornstein and Giuliani, and I’ll admit that they are definitely on the fringe somewhat. But then the rest of your blog centers around whipping up on Trump, who is not one of my favorites at all, but none the less, every time you comment on anything political, you bring up all of his short comings and more. Then you get into the lies. Well lets see: Obama administration, from the executive office, all of it I might add, down thru the FBI, CIA and the entire Justice Department, so many lies and cover-ups there is no way to even guess as to how many. Bush number 2, lies and more lies. Clintons, I don’t even want to get started with that one, Bush number 1, more of the same, and the list goes as far back as you would care to go, up to and including George Washington, in all probability. My take on all this is that your socialism side is showing. Report Reply 5 replies · active 117 weeks ago 123Next » Post a new comment Enter text right here!
