Pescara chief confirms Leicester chasing star striker Gianluca Lapadula

first_imgPescara director general Giorgio Ripetto has revealed Gianluca Lapadula will leave the club this summer and that Leicester City are in the hunt to sign him.The striker has bagged over 20 goals in Serie B this season, sparking interest from several sides.Juventus tried to sign the 26-year-old in January but negotiations broke down after extended talks.Now the Italian champions are back in for him, but Ripetto admits they have been joined in their hunt by the likes of Leicester as Pescara prepare to sell Lapadula.“In the next transfer market he [Lapadula] will leave, regardless of whether the team managed to get to Serie A or not,” Ripetto told“Juventus already came forward with an offer in January to try and sign him in July along with [Gianluca] Caprari.“But the deal wasn’t completed also due to the interest of other teams like Napoli, Leicester and Genoa.“The Rossoblu, like the Bianconeri, asked for both players and could currently be considered the favourites.“But these negotiations are being brought forward directly by the president.” 1 Gianluca Lapadula last_img read more
