first_imgFACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYDEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICEPart-Time Lecturer Pool PositionPOSITION AVAILABLE: One or more temporary, part-time lecturers fora pool from which instructors will be considered for appointmentsas they become available for Fall Semester 2021, and/or SpringSemester 2022.THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Criminal Justice consists ofeight tenured and tenure- track faculty and offers an undergraduateprogram leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science. The criminaljustice major requires student to take lower division and upperdivision core course, upper division electives, and coursesfocusing on the following areas: Crime Prevention, Policing, andForensics; Corrections, Community Based Programs, and Youth; Impactof Crime and Victimization; and Justice, Equity, Diversity. Thedepartment also offers a minor in Criminal Justice. Established in1977, the Department has approximately 700 majors and 85minors.DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Teaching one or more courses in the areasof law enforcement, criminalistics, criminal law, and corrections.Please note that teaching assignments at California StateUniversity, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord andOnline campuses.RANK AND SALARY: Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educationalpreparation and experience. Position appointment is subject tobudgetary authorization.DATE OF APPOINTMENT: Fall Semester begins August 17, 2021 andSpring Semester begins January 21, 2022.QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. preferred. Minimum JD or M.A./M.S. withuniversity teaching experience and experience in a criminal justicefield.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Positions open until filled.
